Spring! and a stranger at the Door

Spring really is here this week. Yin and I moved a small shrub with sweetly smelling flowers near to the back door and then discovered crocuses as well as snowdrops appearing in all sorts of odd spots. Later I sat outside with my coffee near wallflowers and a small iris. . No doubt winter will be back next week so we must enjoy it while we can.
Yesterday a stranger came to my door wanting to rent a room. I told him I do not let rooms. He produced a paper with my name address and phone number (I'm ex-directory so was a might alarmed) There were 2 names at the bottom Church Ministers one of whom I know. He is from Pakistan and left in a hurry because someone had taken his clothing business from him. (English was poor but that is what I gleaned). I thought he said he is Moslem but said he doesn't trust Moslems or his compatriots. He wanted to find a decent flat to rent or room anyway. I eventually saw him off and then worried about who he is and how he got my name. So I emailed contacts at the local churches to see who knows him and even alerted the police in case he was visiting other people!
Eventually I established that he is a Christian and has been going to a local church but they have difficulty communicating with him. Now I think I know why he seemed so afraid; Christian converts are not popular in Pakistan. So now we are searching for decent lodging for him -and friends. It would be good if we find some from his country whom he can trust.
