Well I went with a friend and her friend to Peebles. They are keen birdwatchers and took themselves for a walk along the Tweed-side in the cold wind, while I cowered in the cold out of the wind in a small church. I appreciated the fairly modern windows at St Peter's showing a lively looking Mary, Jesus and Joseph on the way to the Temple with 2 pigeons in a cage. They had a sallow more Middle Eastern complexion rather than the blond anglo-Saxon look of so many Victorian portrayals--.
I was glad when they re joined me having seen two dippers I think and various ducks and we went off to the Tontine for lunch and then a lovely drive back over the wild hills from Innerleithen.
But then my friend Dee came to stay in order to be close to her husband ill in the Royal Infirmary. We were able to visit a local Church where prayer ministry is taken seriously and that was good.
As the sun and rain keep chasing each other so joy and sadness intermingle
