Winding down!

I seem to be winding the blinds down and drawing curtains almost as soon as I have put them all up- the days are so short and if the sun doesn't appear we have the lights on all day. I can see that for those further north (or in the very far south) winter must be one long night, while my friends living near the Equator must wonder what the fuss is about! Still I do like our seasons and it is lovely when the Spring gradually 'emerges'!
So many people seem to be 'winding up' at this time for festivities, parties and Festivals here but this is my time for winding down. I do use one of those light boxes to try to keep awake but I am looking forward to being allowed to hibernate with one or two good books for a week or two-or three!
In the meantime I am slogging my way through the card pile and wishing I had the energy to write interesting letters or emails. Sometimes I delay so I can add those interesting letters but it all ends in a sudden rush to get some cards in the post--
