My Chinese friend was amazed that I might eat a boiled egg with a spoon, disbelieving that I would put my egg in a little cup to do so - until she saw the cup in the dishwasher! Oh how she laughed. My tea-cosy was also a novelty (yes I use loose leaf tea - no tea-bags here).
'You'll tell me next that you have a cover for your egg!' Well I don't use one but I do have one hidden away. Hysterical laughter followed when I unearthed it-how odd are the British! But perhaps this cosy habit is a thing of the Past?
I found this knitting pattern while sorting (or maybe just moving) one of the piles of stuff that one has from the past. Long past - it cost 1/- . I do remember learning to knit these cosies at some point in my school days.
Does anyone use an egg-cosy these days?
