Four blackberries and a raspberry!

A little stroll around my domain today in bright sunshine. Ate the one ripe raspberry found and am contemplating what to do with the blackberries-with apple? maybe ice-cream? Birdbath frozen so I've moved it nearer the house hoping it will be warmer there. Seeds and crumbs for birds, meal worms (freeze-dried) for blackbirds, peanuts for squirrels (have they got the message?) Wildlife gardening is quite a responsibility!
Yesterday we did manage to continue tidying the garden. George came and wielded secateurs and lopper; I tidiesd leaves , scooping some from the pond rather carefully. The ankle tendonitis has returned after a previous garden stint so I try to be careful. Not all leaves have fallen yet and there is still colour-ice-plant, roses, Peruvian Lilies, one dahlia and even a wall-flower in bud!
This week seems to have been busy. Last Saturday I was with a Meditation group at St Barnadas where we were led through the last 4 of the Beatitudes.
A .came to lunch on Sunday and I went with him to visit his wife C at Ellen Glen. When they moved her into a long-stay unit she was told recovery was unlikely; she would remain imprisoned in a painful paralused body; but this last week or two she has begun to use her right arm and her legs and now she is able to feed herself and wield the TV remote . There has been great progress and we are trying not to get too excited. But with pain controlled and more control over her life it is uplifting for her and all of us.
S and I went to hear Michael Northcott on 'The Moral Climate' Monday evening. I have the book and had read the article in Third Way Magazine so I didn't miss out much although he was not using a 'mike'
Tuesday was my first meeting with the 'Inspiring Women' group from Church; we are using Gerry Hughes study. based on God of Surprises; the fact that he has retired to live in Edinburgh makes for greater interest-
Last night I was at The Gang Show at the Kings Theatre! Jackie has been one of the organisers for years but this year was content to be Chorus Mistress- for 200 Scouts, Guides, Cubs and Brownies, the last groups were in the first half only (there are laws about this I think). Lots of dancing and singing, funny scetches. They were extraordinarily good, very well drilled and rehearsed throughout with several good actors and soloists among them. There were I think more kids than adults in the audience not to mention Scout Leaders.

I will try and keep this up to date more often -this is a rather lengthy post!
