Accepting One's Limitations

I seem to have lost October! Looking back it wasn't particularly busy. I did visit the Queen's Gallery to to see the Italian Master's mainly 16-17th Century which we really enjoyed. Lost my Mobile that day but was fairly sure it was in the house somewhere. I don't use it much but by the time I had got another one and the other barred, the lost one turned up under a chair--. I've also acquired a new Digital TV, which seemed to take the best part of a week to get sorted.
I had joined a home-group with a theological interest and we are studying a book by Eugene Peterson called 'Reverse Thunder' a superb approach to understanding the Revelation of John- but when I came in cold and tired and contemplated setting off again to somewhere in Leith, I discovered I wasn't going and had an early night instead! It is not just that the nights are drawing in (dark soon after 4pm already) and I'm beginning to feel like hibernating for the winter, I am having to accept that I do not have the energy I once had and that I cannot prticipate in group discussion any more. If there are more than 3 or 4 people in a group I am soon lost, despite the latest hearing system, and I can't keep asking for a repeat. This weekend I decided to accept my limitations and to concentrate on those things I can enjoy -like having people to visit me and using the internet. So perhaps I'll get to blog more often!
